Book Club presents a Movie Evening at the Ainsworth Library

The Friends Book Club will be showing the movie "Shane", a Western, on Thursday, August 20th, at 6 PM. This memorable1952 movie, based on the novel by Jack Schaefer, starring Alan Ladd, Van Heflin, Jean Arthur, and Brandon De Wilde, is a "portrait of a gunfighter trying to escape his violent past", and ties in with the Book Club's selection read in July, Riders of the Purple Sage .

Summary: "In the summer of 1889, a mysterious and charismatic man rides into a small Wyoming valley, where he joins homesteaders who take a stand against a bullying rancher, and where he changes the lives of a young boy and his parents.

This is a beautiful and memorable film, suitable for all ages with parental supervision, and everyone is welcome. We will be serving popcorn! Please join us.
